Just a couple things I want to share with you guys after my first week LIVING IN NYC:
I officially started interning at Laura Stanczyk's Casting Agency, near Times Square, January 3rd! Laura is a Broadway casting director who has been involved in such shows as Side Show, Ragtime, Urinetown, as well as many other revivals and National tours. She is truly so great and such a wonderful connection to have, I can't wait to continue to work with her and the rest of her agency in the six weeks leading up to my Showcase.
I just attended our first post-move Showcase rehearsal with alum Todd Alan Crain, and I cannot stop thinking about how incredible it was - he is truly a wealth of knowledge about the "acting in the city" world and it was so refreshing to get a new take, or a new eye, on our Showcase material! Alan did this out of the goodness of his heart from his past experiences of moving to the city out of college, and I cannot thank him enough.
This is all still kind of surreal... it still feels like an extended vacation or group field trip with my class. When I look around and see all this and truly acknowledge the fact that I am living here now, it blows my mind. I honestly could not be happier. I am so excited for what these coming months will bring while I train for Showcase and give my all at my internship, and then what's going to happen beyond that - I guess only time will tell.
"Look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now."
